Doodling Across Joburg
Last year the Night of 1000 Drawings event raised over R120 000 for Streetlight Schools who built new classrooms with the donation. In 2016 the 1000 Drawings Team are aiming even higher, but only with a little help from our friends. Across Joburg there are coffee shops and restaurants encouraging patrons to draw a doodle while they visit. These artworks are collected in a doodle box and each piece is sold for R100 at a fabulous exhibition event in November.
For anyone who’d like to give a doodle around town, these are the generous establishments that are helping 1000 Drawings double their creative and financial targets this year. Visit any of these coffee shops or restaurants and you’ll find drawing materials, A5 paper and a doodle box to drop your beautiful doodle in. The Art Galleries listed have specific doodle sessions (see Facebook for details) and a drop-off doodle box on site. Doodle donations from all ages are welcome.
